8th Synod of the Nnewi Diocese/Ground Breaking Ceremony of Dame Irene Nneka Okwuosa Memorial Convent Project, Oraifite, Anambra

On Sunday, 8th July, 2018, the ancient city of Oraifite played host to the Anglican faithfuls from all works of life to mark the 8th Synod of the Nnewi Diocese themed - Forgiveness, the Hallmark of Christian Faith. Guests from far and wide converged at St. Jude's Anglican Church, Oraifite for this year's Synod service. Highlight of the event includes special chior presentation by the diocesan choir, cutting of the synod cake and launching for funds for the Diocesan Pentecost University project, Ground breaking ceremony of an Administration/Class Room Block project at the Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Convent, Oraifite.

The Groundbreaking event was well attended with the Arch Bishop, Province of the Niger & Bishop, Diocese of Nnewi - His Grace, The Most Reverend, Prof. Godwin I. N. Okpala (JP, OON). In his message, he described the Late Dame Irene Okwuosa as a role model and commended the initiative of her children.

The donor and founder of Emeka Okwuosa Foundation - Engr. Dr. Sir. Emeka Okwuosa said that the project was to further strengthen the contribution of his late mother - Dame Irene Nneka Okwuosa in impacting humanity. While promising that the building will be completed in 8 months, he expressed his commitment to the development of education and human capacity development in Nigeria and the world at large.
