For Chiziterem Favour and her family in Enugu State, the Fabian and Patricia Okonkwo Scholarship brought more than just financial assistance, it brought relief, encouragement, and pride.

“The scholarship really helped ease the financial burden on my family,” Chiziterem says. “It came at a time when we truly needed the support.”

As a JSS3 student at Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Convent, Chiziterem is one of the youngest beneficiaries, but her vision for the future is anything but small. With the pressure of school fees reduced, her parents have been able to breathe easier and their pride in her has only grown stronger.

“It made my parents proud of me,” she says, smiling. “And that makes me want to do even better.”

Thanks to the scholarship, Chiziterem has stayed competitive in school and more focused on her studies. Her confidence has grown, and so has her determination to excel. She credits the scholarship for helping her become a better student and for opening her eyes to bigger possibilities.

Her goal? To study Medicine and Surgery abroad, where she hopes to gain global experience and return one day to make a lasting impact.

Chiziterem’s journey shows how a single act of generosity can uplift not just a student, but an entire family, planting the seeds of ambition and academic excellence. Through the support of Fabian and Patricia Okonkwo, she is already reaching higher and dreaming further than ever before.
